Parker Pierce, student at Woodstock Union High School, along with a team of students, engineered a new type of stove that could be easily made with metal. He developed this stove in the NuVu lab at his school, with mentor Sumanth Krishna. The village leaders in Chipampha, Malawi watched him demonstrate the stove and suggested improvements for the design. As he returns to school this fall, he and his team will work on the design and hopefully work with a local business who can manufacture the parts and bring them back to Malawi. Trees and Seeds hopes to return to Malawi with a better stove that can be locally made there with the design improvements.
